Graphite and Molybdenum disulfide are well-known solid lubricants. In powder form, they are the important ingredient of the lubrication component, to be added into the powder metallurgy process to realize the lubrication optimization of the mechanical parts. However, graphite and molybdenum disulfide are light and loosen in form, poor in mobility, dispersity, and dissociation, as a result, to be added directly into the powder metallurgy material will not achieve ideal lubrication performance for the products. The solution is to pretreat the graphite and molybdenum disulfide powder by depositing a layer of nickel on the powder particle’s surface. The experiments have also shown that nickel cladded graphite and molybdenum disulfide not only increases their density and mobility in the powder metallurgy process but also enhances the physical characteristics of the mechanical parts produced.


LQ is engaged in manufacturing and developing Ni cladded graphite and molybdenum disulfide (Ni-Graphite and Ni-MoS2) composite powder used as self-lubricating fillers that added into powder metallurgy production and distributes in market its two filler products modes LQF-P1 of Ni-MoS2 and LQF-P2 of Ni- Graphite.


Besides the powder metallurgy application, nickel cladded Graphite and Molybdenum disulfide (Ni-Graphite and Ni-MoS2) are also being used as catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction and biosensor for medical pathological diagnosis.
